BACKYARD BARBECUERS

Here in beautiful Waynesboro, VA., there is a core group of about 10 friends that get together at least twice a week to grill out. My name is Robert, and along with me the rest of the bbquers are: Dar, Paul, Lyle, Jonathan, Loren, Rachel, Erin, Marcus, and Andrea. The key to any good cookout is to first ice down your favorite 20 pack of beer, you have to have a little socializing time while cooking. My favorite grill to use is a Char-Griller  ( use this link to view) charcoal grill with a side smoker. We love to cook every type of meat, and we are always looking for new seasonings. If you want to use a pre made marinade, the A1 marinades  (click here to view all of their flavors) are excellent. I have tried them all, but my two favorites are Chicago and New York style. McCormick's Montreal Steak seasoning is good to add to every type of meat, for a little extra spice. Of course the best way to cook, is to come up with your own seasonings by experimenting with your favorite spices. Over the last year we have done a variety of cookouts: steak, burgers, hot dogs, chicken, shish kabobs, pork chops, tenderloins, barbecue, ribs, shrimp, cheddarwurst, potatoes, corn, texas toast, and beer can chicken. We also like to deep fry turkeys, and like to have boils for crawfish and crab legs. We cook out so much, we just had to build a new 24' x 14' deck at my buddy Dar's house, which is where we tend to do most of the cookouts. We will be continuing to cook out all year, and I will be updating new methods we come up with to use on the grill.
